A: YOUR BEST PIECE OF CREATIVE WORK BEFORE COMING TO THIS COURSE, THINK LATERALLY IF YOU HAVE NOT DONE "CONVENTIONAL" ART OR DESIGN WORK

The picture above is one section of my Yr 12 design and technology major work. My major work had to either be a need or opportunity. Mine was based on need. My major work was an emergency shelter that can be easily transported and assembled quickly. I was inspired to make this emergency shelter due to the Queensland floods and Japanese earthquake back in 2011. My design consisted of separate light-weight metal frames that join together and type of waterproof wood material that slipped into the middle of the frame, that served as a wall for the emergency shelter. My major work also consisted of a scaled model- showing the exterior and interior, a Google sketch up 3D model and graphic designs/ inspiration boards (as shown above).

B: AN IMAGE OF A GREAT PIECE OF ARCHITECTURE

Above is an aerial image of the beautiful Al Khazneh or The Treasury Petra in Jordan. It is said to be one of the most complex temples in the ancient Jordanian city of Petra. The structure, as well as many other buildings in this Ancient town, is that it is carved out of sandstone rock face. Al Khazneh or The Treasury's facade has two levels, adorned with columns, sculptures and classical rooflines. Resting ontop of the facade is an eagle, a Nabataen (and Greek) which is a symbol of male deity.

C: AN ORIGINAL PHOTOGRAPH OF SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL

 The image above is of heart reef located at Airlie beach, Queensland. I took this picture while riding in a seaplane that took us around the reef area. The composition of the coral has naturally formed into the shape of a heart. Heart reef was discovered in 1975 and it is located exactly in Hardy Reef. Overall the reef there is beautiful and the water is so clean that you can see the bottom from the seaplane.
